"Naples A Pictorial History" by Stan Poe
THE COVERThe gracious Edwardian lady enjoying an afternoon idyll on Alamitos Bay in 1907 is the author's grandmother, Nell Adelia Baker, who later married Albert Goudron. The Bakers were a pioneer southern California family. Several members married into the Edwards family, which established Westminster in the 1870s. The families maintained homes in the Alamitos Bay region. In 1908, Nell Baker's sorority at the University of Southern California hosted a national teacher's convention which included a journey to Naples on the Pacific Electric line.
